The Greater Chattanooga Fellowship of Christian Athletes will hold its 61st Annual FCA Day of Champions on Sunday May 5th with a program at Ridgedale Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Among the many awards the FCA chapter will announce is the FCA Christian Athlete of the Year award whose recipient will receive the Gerald Sinkfield Memorial Scholarship. Former Chattanooga State Tiger Earns Mid South Player Of The Year
Jade Gainer, former softball player at Chattanooga State, earned player of the year honors from the Mid South Conference for her play in the 2024 season. Ms Gainer, now with the University of the Cumberlands, hit .436 in 47 games and leads the team in batting average along with hits (66), homers (7), runs batted in (51), slugging percentage (.732) and OPS (1.211).
Lookouts Beat The Biscuits 3-1
The Lookouts (7-16) held the Montgomery Biscuits (12-12) scoreless until the 9th inning on Thursday night at Riverwalk Stadium and held on for a 3-1 win. Motorcyclist Dies In Wednesday Evening Crash On Birchwood Pike
A motorcyclist died in a crash on Birchwood Pike on Wednesday evening. Around 6 p.m., Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a motorcycle crash in the 9600 block of Birchwood Pike in Harrison. Hamilton County emergency personnel also responded to the incident and lifesaving efforts were attempted on the motorcyclist, but they succumbed to their injuries.
