Father makes surprise return to kids at Kettering schools

KETTERING, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Two students at Kettering City Schools received the surprise of a lifetime on Thursday afternoon.

Jacob Turner has been training with the U.S. Army for seven months. As a part of the district’s participation in Ohio Military Appreciation Week, Turner received the opportunity to surprise his children.

Turner’s daughter, Maddisyn, has been learning about heroes all week long, but didn’t know one would be coming to see her. Her dad and family surprised her at Oakview Elementary School.

The Kettering father next traveled to Van Buren Middle School to surprise Clayton, his son.

For the next two weeks, Turner gets to stay at home with his family. He will then return to prepare for deployment.
