Jayvee Lady Broncs finish up season with a win
Kern Valley’s junior varsity softball team circled the bases plenty of times to record the 29-11 victory. Going on the road to Rosamond, the Lady Broncs as a team collected 11 hits. Two of the hits were doubles. They would see nine players score runs for the squad. Six players were able to record an RBI for Kern Valley. According to the coach, the majority of the runs scored were off of walks.

Broncs close out season versus Rosamond
Taking the trip to Rosamond, the Broncs jayvee team knew it would be their last game of the year. It is unfortunate that they would come home with a 15-13 loss. Kern Valley took command early and looked like they were well on their way to securing the win. They opened the game with a six spot in the top of the first. The Roadrunners scored once to put it at 6-1. After the Broncs at bats were finished in the top of the third the lead had ballooned to 10-1. The bottom of the inning was their undoing as Rosamond rallied to score five times to put it at 10-6.
End of the year for Broncs track squad
The Kern Valley boys track team finished up their season as they competed at the CIF Division 4 Championships. They would come in 12th place as a team. Six team members took their shot at qualifying for the CIF Masters Championships. The highest individual finisher for the Broncs was Daniel Hinkey in the 100m hurdles. He ran the race in a time of 16.88 to take fourth. Kyle Espinoza-Denys took fifth in the long jump. He leaped 19’ 8.25” to set a PR. Espinoza-Denys was also part of the 4x 100m relay team that was sixth. Their combined time for the relay was 45.40 which was also a PR. The other runners of the group were Hinkey, Tristan Beckham, and Jack Montgomery.
