Events coming up this week around the Basin

PERMIAN BASIN (KMID/KPEJ) – Here are some of the events coming up this week across the Basin for the week of April 14th.

Monday, April 15th

• The Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its ‘Free Community Wide Shred Day’ from 4pm to 7pm at 503 E FM 700. You can learn more about the event on the Chamber’s Facebook page here .

Wednesday, April 17th

• Permian Basin Workforce Solutions will be hosting a Fort Stockton Job Fair from 8am to noon at 461 S Highway 285. Employers attending include the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Work Services Corporation. You can learn more about the event here .

Thursday, April 18th

• The Bush Family Home will be hosting its monthly ‘Third Thursday Reading Program’ at the Historic Site from 5pm to 6:15pm. Local Author Tara Wilson will be reading her book, “ Randy Rattlesnake .” You can learn more about Wilson and the event here .

Saturday, April 20th

• The Petroleum Museum will be putting on ‘Demise Amongst the Derricks: A Murder Mystery of Dastardly Deeds’ at 6pm. The evening will include a Murder Mystery, Culinary Delights catered by The Half Acre, intoxicating Giggle Juice concocted by Hops & Bubbles, and Mug Shots in the photo station. • Kermit Mayor Holbrook will be hosting ‘Muffins with the Mayor’ beginning at 9am at the Kermit Civic Center. The Mayor will provide an update to what is happening in the City and answer questions from citizens. You can learn more here .
• The Midland Downtown Famers Market will be taking place from 8am to noon at 404 N Colorado Street. A variety of vendors will be there selling a lot of different products. You can learn more here .
