KPD: One minor, one adult arrested in connection to a drive-by shooting in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Kennewick Police Department said two people in connection with a drive-by shooting have been arrested.

Police records said a juvenile, of Kennewick and Cesar Villagrana, 20, of Pasco were arrested and booked on suspicion of drive-by shooting. The mother was cited for failure to supervise a child.

According to officials, after a drive-by shooting happened on October 12, 2023 just before 5 p.m. in the area of Kamiakin High School in the 700 block of North Arthur Street , police began investigating the scene.

Officials said students and staff were still at the school for sports practices when the shooting occurred and several bullets had hit two apartment units in the apartment complex across the street from Kamiakin High School.

Police said the apartment units had people and children in them but fortunately no one was injured during the shooting.

According to detectives, the KPD Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) arrested the juvenile yesterday in Kennewick. CAT also helped with the arrest of 20-year-old Cesar Villagrana yesterday.
