Update: Tornado warning for Southwest Pa. Saturday evening
On Saturday at 6:28 p.m. an updated tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 6:45 p.m. for Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties. "At 6:28 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Jefferson Hills, or near Gastonville, moving east at 25 mph," states the weather service. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely."

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A Verona man wanted for skipping his court date after he was released on nonmonetary bond for allegedly leading Pennsylvania State Police on a high-speed chase has been returned to Allegheny County. According to Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced that 37-year-old Hermas Craddock was returned to Allegheny County on Friday after he was taken into custody by the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida. Crews contain leak from sunken boat in Ohio River
A boat sunk in the Ohio River near Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood Friday. The boat sunk near the old site of SCI Pittsburgh, better known as Western Penitentiary, at around 12:30 p.m. Reports indicated the boat was leaking some type of oil or fuel. Fire crews both on land and on the water with the fire boat worked to contain the spill. Pittsburgh Public Safety officials confirmed the boat produced a small fuel leak. HazMat deployed a boom and materials to help contain it.
Phantom Fireworks moving into former New Kensington Rite Aid building
A former Rite Aid in New Kensington is becoming a year-round fireworks store. Phantom Fireworks plans to open its store in the former pharmacy at 700 Stevenson Blvd. by mid-June in time for this year’s Fourth of July season, said Michael Podolsky, deputy general counsel for the Youngstown, Ohio-based company.
Man charged after Pittsburgh car meet up blocks traffic, takes over streets
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A man faces charges after a car meet-up took over streets and blocked an intersection in Downtown Pittsburgh the night before the Pittsburgh Marathon. The large car meet-up took over the busy intersection of Stanwix Street, Forbes Avenue and Liberty Avenue on May 4. Right away, police officers showed up, and now Jason Stotlemyer of Bridgeville faces felony charges. He's already facing charges in connection with a car meet that shut down the Fort Pitt Bridge in August. Police said he hit a Pennsylvania State Police cruiser. Multiple homes catch fire in Avalon
AVALON, Pa. (KDKA) -- Multiple homes caught fire early Friday morning in Avalon Borough. The fire broke out just after 5:00 this morning along McKinley Avenue.Multiple fire crews were called out to battle the flames that spread to multiple nearby homes."To see how big this was, it was certainly a shock," said Kace Nelson, a man who lives nearby. "I certainly hope nobody was in the house."Avalon Police Chief Tom Kokoski spoke with KDKA and said that one of his officers was injured while responding to the fire, but he's expected to be okay.Chief Kokoski said that crews are searching for the occupant of the home.
