Our Spot KC, a local nonprofit focused on the eradication of homelessness in the LGBTQ+ community, announced that it had found a new spot to call home. Located in the heart of the Marlborough East Neighborhood, the reimagined former Center Annex School Building, off 63rd and Swope Pkwy., will stand as a resource hub and safe haven.

KANSAS CITY —Three children were injured in a building fire early Saturday in Kansas City. Just before 2a.m., crews responded to the report of a building fire at Truman and Park, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins. Honoring heroes: Permanent memorial unveiled for crew members of B-25 test flight crash
NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There's now a permanent memorial dedicated to the five crew members who lost their lives in the only B-25 test flight crash in Kansas City. More than 6,000 B-25 Mitchell Bombers were built at the North American Aviation Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, Kansas, during World War II. Before they were released to the military, they had to undergo test flights. While most were successful, the 13th B-25 off the assembly line crashed shortly after takeoff into a railyard across the Missouri River in North Kansas City, Missouri. All five crew members, Raymond Quick, Oran Sims, Charles Frederick, Joseph Peacher and Edward Krakora, were killed.
