The incident, which occurred during an argument in the early hours of a Tuesday morning, was reported to authorities around 3:30 a.m. The couple's home near Cleora became the scene of the crime where Kendra was shot in the neck and subsequently rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

At the same moment, a Ford Transit, steered by Autumn R. Horton of Duenweg, Missouri, was executing a left turn. The Jeep collided with the Transit, veered off the road, and overturned, leading to fatal consequences for passenger Rogers.
