KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Kalamazoo said tips led them to three men who were involved in an unprovoked assault.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said the assault happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of W. Michigan Avenue and Howard Street near Western Michigan University’s campus.

Witnesses told investigators that the assault was unprovoked, and the three suspects ran away immediately after, according to KDPS.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

KDPS said in a Thursday release that they had identified the people in the photos after getting “numerous” tips. It thanked everyone who offered information.

Police did not release information about the three people, nor say exactly how they may have been involved.
