Woman found dead in Kalamazoo-area house fire
KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI -- A woman was found dead inside a home after it started on fire, according to a fire marshal. Firefighters were called about 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, to the blaze at 3220 Olney Road, and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the home, Fire Marshal Todd Kowalski said.
Student, 16, found with loaded gun at Kalamazoo school
KALAMAZOO, MI -- A Kalamazoo Central High School student was found with a loaded gun on Monday, April 22, according to Township of Kalamazoo Police. A staff member discovered a 16-year-old student in possession with a stolen firearm. Township of Kalamazoo Police officers detained the student after arriving at the school, 2432 N. Drake Road, at roughly 2 p.m.
