Firefighters battle multiple brush fires in Anahola, arson suspected
Kaua‘i firefighters extinguished several brush fires May 2 in Anahola. No injuries or damaged structures were reported. The blazes scorched about 5 acres. Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 5:40 p.m. Thursday to reports of multiple blazes near ‘Ehukai Road in Anahola. They were able to quickly extinguish three small brush fires after arriving.

Approximately 423 pounds of unneeded medication was collected during this year’s National Drug Take Back Day on Kaua‘i. The annual event, held on April 27, was hosted by Kaua‘i Police Department in collaboration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, giving the public a safe way to dispose of old, unwanted and expired prescription medications.
