Azle teams recognized at school board
AZLE — Azle ISD’s board of trustees saw a full house at the most recent meeting at the administration building, April 15. Parents, families and school staff filled the room for more than 40 minutes of student recognition. Walnut Creek Elementary students and Principal Stephan Garretson lead off the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.

TWU splits doubleheader with St. Edward’s to close regular softball season
The regular season came to close Thursday for the Texas Woman's softball team at Dianne Baker Field. In their final doubleheader of the regular season, the Pioneers (25-28, 23-19) split the day with St. Edward's (18-34, 16-26). TWU claimed the win in Game 1, 4-1, but fell in Game 2, 6-1.
Chase Wofford named Coppell High School's Teacher of the Year
Chase Wofford, The Sidekick Newspaper advisor and journalism instructor at Coppell High School, was awarded the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year honor. Wofford oversees The Sidekick Newspaper, a student-led media organization that provides updates of events throughout the school.
