Eagles unable to fend off comeback
The Pleasanton Eagles baseball team concluded their season on the diamond Saturday following a tough series against Bishop. After dominating the series opener Friday night, Pleasanton was separated by just a run in Games 2 and 3. It was the only time all season the Eagles (30-6) fell in backto back contests.

Zoom to the finish line
The all-girl Poteet High School racing team zoomed into third place at the 2024 Alamo City Electrathon (ACE) Race held on April 19. With the vision to generate excitement and awareness of vocational opportunities associated with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), the competition took place at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall in San Antonio. The race was hosted by the South Texas Business Partnership.

Madison Maglievaz is a Poteet High School graduate, class of 2021 attending Mississippi State University. She is graduating with a bachelor’s degree this December in Political Science with a minor in International Studies. Last summer, she interned at the US Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. This summer, she will be interning with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Budapest, Hungary.
Brahmas defeat Lytle, 7-3
KARNES CITY – Hallettsville seemed headed for a runrule game with Lytle after leading 7-0 in its area round playoff contest. But things got a little dicey after Lytle rallied for three runs in the sixth inning before the Brahmas held on for a 7-3 victory at Perkins Field Friday night.
