Tribal Executive Board Promotes Matthews
The Fort Peck Tribes Executive Board held its full board meeting Tuesday, Feb. 27. The following resolutions were passed by the board. Lewis Matthews was approved for a promotion to the position of Chief of Police for the Fort Peck Tribes. The vote was close, with a split of six in favor and five opposed and three abstaining. Chairman Justin Gray Hawk broke the tie and voted in favor of the promotion.
Test Water Flow From Fort Peck Expected Less Than Originally Planned
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is required by the Endangered Species Act to preform three to five test flows from Fort Peck Dam in the next several years. The test water flow amount released from the Fort Peck Dam is anticipated to be less than originally planned, according to U.S. Corps of Engineers’ officials.
Housing, Security Discussed At WPCO Meeting
Housing and law enforcement were among the topics discussed during the Wolf Point Community Organization’s meeting last week. It was reported that Neil Taylor resigned on Friday, Feb. 16, as director for the Fort Peck Housing Authority. The staff feel that planned projects can still be completed.
