MISSOURI (KOAM) -- The statewide gas price average in Missouri is down three cents compared to last week.

According to AAA Missouri Weekend Gas Watch , out of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Missouri, drivers in Jefferson City are paying the average of $3.46 while drivers in Joplin are paying at least $3.08 per gallon.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.66, which is three cents less compared to last week.

"Crude oil has come down in price and demand has slowed, which is keeping further gas price increases at bay," said AAA spokesperson Nick Chabarria. "Drivers can anticipate pump price fluctuations through the remainder of April."

Drivers in Missouri are paying the 14th lowest gas prices average in the country, according to AAA.
