JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) - The Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau hosted The Food Network last August as they recorded an episode four of their new show BEST BITE IN TOWN with five Joplin restaurants.
" Mark your calendar this Friday, April 19 at 8 p.m. Joplin is going to be featured in a new show on The Food Network. The show is titled BEST BITE IN TOWN. The show will air at 8 p.m. this Friday and it is going to highlight 6 of our local restaurants that include:
It was last August our Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) worked with The Food Network who brought six chefs and 32 crew members to town to determine the best bit in Joplin from their preselected six restaurants. The show will highlight the process they went through and the menu items from each of the restaurants before they determine what the best bite in Joplin is. Patrick Tuttle, the director of the CVB said there was no expense to the city for this project other than labor and coordination and preparation. Patrick and his staff want to thank the many who helped with the project including the restaurants and the staff from our Joplin Parks and Recreation Dept and Mercy [Park] ground Crews who prepared the site the final segment was filmed. Projections of the economic impact of a national show featuring local restaurants is an unknown factor but it generally tends to the positive."

Guy Fieri is the executive producer and has 'sent out' Noah Cappe to find the best bites in towns across the US.
"Guy Fieri's buddy Noah Cappe is headed out to Joplin, Missouri, along celebrity chefs Aarti Sequeira and Joe Sasto. Together, they investigate the Joplin food scene, leaving no culinary stone unturned, as they try everything from tacos and sushi to BBQ and fine dining. Each of them selects one dish to nominate for a showcase in the middle of town, where expert judges will decide the best of the best."
