Armed Robbery at Nails on 20th, police say suspect lives within sight of salon

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) — This past Friday evening just before 7 p.m. Joplin Police say an Armed Robbery occurred at Nails on 20th, 407 E 20th.
“The caller reported a male suspect came in the store wearing a mask, presented a handgun, and demanded money from the business. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the store on foot.”

Officers rushed to the scene and searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect.
Man charged in Armed Robbery at Nails on 20th on East 20th. Jeffrey Dampier, 53, was arrested at his house on Saturday after the Friday robbery. Nails on 20th Salon is 20th and Grand his residence is 1916 Grand, one house off the parking lot. Or about 100 feet from the front door of the salon to his backyard. Dampier is being held on $250,000 bond in the Jasper County Jail.
IDENTIFYING AND ARRESTING THE SUSPECT
Security video viewed by a Joplin Detective positively identified the suspect as Jeffrey T. Dampier , age 53. He lives within sight of the salon at 1916 S Grand.
Saturday, March 23rd, police took Dampier into custody without incident at his address on S Grand.
Charges have been filed by the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office:
Robbery in the 1st Degree
Armed Criminal Action
Bond is set at $250,000. He is currently in custody at the Jasper County Jail.
