JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man was arrested after attacking a woman who then held him at knife-point and called police, according to authorities.

The Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher Blacksten, 32, of Jonesborough, on Saturday and charged him with aggravated domestic assault.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. to a home on Woodridge Road. The victim told deputies that during an argument with Blacksten, she retreated to a bathroom and locked two doors to get away from him.

Blacksten broke through both doors and strangled the victim until she passed out, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim fought back and ultimately got away from Blacksten before getting a knife from the kitchen, holding him at knife-point, and calling 911, according to the sheriff’s office.

“The victim had red marks around her neck and the doors showed signs of forced entry, making the victim’s statement of events consistent with the scene,” the sheriff’s office said in a release.

Blacksten was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
