Crash closes busy stretch of road in Augusta
AUGUSTA, Maine (WMTW) - Part of busy Route 3/202/9, also known as North Belfast Avenue, in Augusta was closed Thursday morning due to a crash. Police said just after 9 a.m. the road was closed between Cross Hill Road and Church Hill road while they investigated. That is a stretch of more than two miles on the Vassalboro side of Augusta.
All Saints services begin June 16 celebrating resilience
The Rev. Paul Tunkle, our neighbor from Dresden, will be presiding over the season opening services of Holy Communion on June 16 at All Saints by-the-Sea Episcopal Chapel on Southport Island. Hearty Roots hosts 3rd annual Paddle for a Purpose
At 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, about 75 paddlers departed Glidden Point Oyster Farm on a five-mile route to Damariscotta Town Landing for Hearty Roots’ (HR) third annual Paddle For A Purpose fundraising event. Paddlers enjoyed favorable tide and wind conditions, and only about 10 minutes of light rain mid-course. Karol and Walt Batansky of Boothbay took first place in the unofficial race with a time of 58 minutes, earning the Speedy Gonzales award.
