Perry police officers honored for quick response to January school shooting
Four Perry police officers were honored on Friday for their swift response to the January shooting at Perry High School that left a student and the principal dead. Representative Zach Nunn presented the Iowa Medal of Merit to Chief Eric Vaughn, Officer Micaela Zagar, Officer Cameron Martinez, and School Resource Officer Josh Moore, saying their rapid response and unwavering dedication saved lives and ensured the safety of students and staff.
