UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watch SE of Lubbock
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - updated 6:18 p.m. - We’ve seen a few isolated thunderstorms producing around 1″ hail across parts of Garza, Kent and Scurry counties. These storms are moving southeast, out of our area. The focus for any potential additional storm development next couple hours is over the southeastern edge of our area. Around Lubbock the northeast wind is ushering in cooler and more stable air.

South Plains Storm and Wind Outlook
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Changes in our weather ahead, including wind and a chance of severe storms - for part of the viewing area. Mostly cloudy and cool with a gradually increasing breeze this morning. Clouds will shift east and southwesterly winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph with gusts ranging from about 40 to 50 mph. Winds will be a little stronger over the western viewing area but a little lower over the eastern viewing area.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Crosby, Dickens, King, Garza, Kent, Borden, and Scurry counties through 11 PM CDT tonight. In this area, hail up to 3″ in diameter, wind gusts up to 75 MPH, and isolated tornadoes will be possible.
