Nine arrested in $90k contraband smuggling operation at Dixon Correctional Institute
Nine people have been arrested for allegedly smuggling over $90,000 worth of contraband into the Dixon Correctional Institute in Jackson. In a news release Monday afternoon, Louisiana State Police said an investigation began in November 2023 when several large bundles of contraband were seized. The bundles included large amounts of illegal narcotics, cell phones, prescription medication, knives and other forms of contraband.
