JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Janesville police arrested a man Thursday morning who they said fled a traffic stop and later crashed into an occupied vehicle.

Officers tried to stop the 28-year-old Janesville man at around 9:35 a.m. as part of an ongoing drug investigation. He allegedly refused to stop and drove away from the traffic stop.

He was eventually found after police said he crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of East Court Street and South Garfield Ave. Police said he tried to run from the scene of the crash but was taken into custody by arriving officers.

The man requested medical treatment and was taken to a hospital before being taken to the Rock County Jail. He faces charges of fleeing/eluding officers, resisting/obstructing officers, recklessly endangering safety, hit and run and felony bail jumping.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash refused medical treatment.

As part of the drug investigation, police also searched residences in the 800 block of East Milwaukee Street and 500 block of East Court Street. Police said further charges will be issued as part of that investigation.
