IRVING, Texas (WAND) — The National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame announced today the names on the 2024 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, including former Fighting Illini Kevin Hardy and Simeon Rice. This year's ballot features 78 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 101 players and 32 coaches from the divisional ranks.

The City of Jacksonville Parks & Lakes Committee has approved a proposal for a disc golf course near the Links. The committee met Tuesday night and hashed out details between Sean Meek, who brought the proposal to the full City Council two weeks ago, and Links Golf Course manager Keith Ward.

The Jacksonville Routt Rockets will play for a sectional title on Saturday in the 1A Brown County Sectional after a 12-4 victory over the Illini Bluffs Tigers. The Normal U-High Pioneers will play for a 1A State Title on Saturday after a 2-0 victory over Pleasant Plains in a semifinal game.
