Hy Vee getting closer to St. Louis area
The Iowa-based grocery store chain Hy Vee is getting closer to the St. Louis region. The St. Louis Business Journal reports the company is in talks to purchase County Market locations in Vandalia and Jacksonville, Illinois. The company already has locations in Springfield, Illinois, Columbia, Missouri and at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Stephen Michael Sims was born on October 17, 1960, in Jacksonville, Illinois. He was the son of the late Van Dean Sims and Evelyn Janet Sims. His family moved to Springfield, Illinois when he was 3 years old and soon after his younger brother Stanley Dean Sims was born. Steve attended school in Springfield and graduated from Springfield Southeast High School in 1978. He studied at the University of Illinois in Springfield earning his associate degree.

Two people will split the $100,000 prize after their ticket was pulled in the 2023 Routt Our Saviour Dreams Drawing on Sunday, Sept. 3. Dominick and Zander York of Jacksonville were the big winners as the tickets were pulled by Our Saviour kindergartners that Sunday.
