Two suspects are in custody following a fatal shooting in Rankin County.

Jackson news outlets report that Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said a distressed woman placed a 911 call shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday, reporting the discovery of her son unconscious with a gunshot wound at a residence in the 300 block of North Grove Circle.

The victim, identified as 20-year-old Bryson Horne, succumbed to gunshot wounds to his side and chest, according to deputies.

Witnesses reported sightings of a small white passenger car hastily fleeing the scene.

Ryan Duette, 20, and Lainey Ingle, 20, have been taken into custody after reportedly turning themselves into officials.

Duette has been charged with murder, and Ingle has been charged with accessory after the fact of murder.

Investigators report that firearms were recovered from the vehicle Duette and Ingle were reportedly driving.

Authorities have also confirmed that Horne was the brother of 14-year-old Cameron Horne-Crook, a student at Northwest Rankin who was shot and killed in Jackson on March 25, 2024.
