The Lake Mars Pier Expansion is currently in progress and is expected to be complete by early November 2023. While the pier will remain open to the public during the majority of construction, there will be a need for more intermittent pier closures before the project is complete. Weekly Safety Report: Road Rage Shooting, Facebook Marketplace Murder, Bullying, and Witnessing 9/11 in Jackson County, Mississippi
Two men were hospitalized after a road rage shooting and crash on Interstate 10 in Moss Point, Mississippi. The incident occurred when the victims' vehicle was shot by individuals in another vehicle while both were traveling westbound on I-10. Both cars crashed into each other, and three men fled the scene. In another incident, Daniel Tenner was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of a Mississippi woman during a Facebook Marketplace transaction. Additionally, the death of a student at Ocean Springs Middle School resurfaced painful memories of bullying. Lastly, a Pascagoula woman recalled witnessing the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.
