Rochester man sentenced for deadly drive-by shooting that killed innocent bystander
Rochester, N.Y. — A man was sentenced Tuesday after admitting to the killing of an innocent bystander in the city last year. Teodoro Rivera Jr., 26, of Rochester, is set to serve 18 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to murder and weapon charges back in March.
Shon Todd gets 50 years to life for killing woman, burning home
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 50-year-old man who stabbed a woman to death at her home and then set the building on fire was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. Shon Todd had been convicted by a jury of second-degree murder and second-degree arson in the death of Lysandra Bagley, 37. Rochester firefighters found her body, charred beyond recognition, when they responded to a house fire on Garson Avenue on May 21, 2023. It was determined that she died of multiple stab wounds before the fire.
Man calls for ‘accountability’ after Rochester Police car crashes into his vehicle
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A challenging weekend for Rochester Police involved two crashes, resulting in three officers being hospitalized after being struck by drivers who were allegedly under the influence. However, a third crash, appearing to be caused by a police cruiser, involved a civilian vehicle at the intersection of Lyell Avenue and Saratoga Street — with a 2-year-old girl in her car seat in the back.
Rochester Pair Plead Guilty in Fatal Drive-By Shooting
Both men arrested in a deadly drive-by shooting from a stolen car have pleaded guilty today to 1st-degree manslaughter. 27-year-old Kirsean Chatfield and 18-year-old Keyvin Miller were originally charged with murder and gun crimes in the shooting death of 21-year-old Eric Martin on Dewey Avenue in May of last year.
Teen accused of stealing police car, crashing on Lake Ave. in Rochester
A 16-year-old has been accused of stealing a Rochester Police Department patrol car early Wednesday morning. Officers were on a call for service on Spencer Street, near Lake Avenue, around 12:15 a.m. when they saw someone enter their patrol car and drive off, said Lt. Robert Trosinski. The patrol car was later located after it was involved in a crash on Lake Avenue, near the Riverside cemetery and roughly four miles north of the spot where the teen allegedly took the car.

Police: Two men stab each other during fight on South Avenue
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police say two homeless men stabbed each other during a fight on South Avenue. Neither have life-threatening injuries, police said. Police today responded to the state parole office at 350 South Ave. at about 3:40 p.m., as a person had walked up to the office and told parole officers he had been stabbed and needed an ambulance. Police said they learned a second person had been stabbed in the area of 390 South Ave.
