GLENFIELD NEWS: Otter Creek Horse Trails and town news
Friends of Otter Creek Horse Trails will hold a “PPP” trail clean-up event from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at 6498 South Chases Lake Road, Greig. “PPP” stands for “Pick it up, Pack it out, Prune it back.” Volunteers are asked to meet at the Assembly Road, at the day use/overflow area. From there, they will fill out a required Limited Use Volunteer application, and pick up trail maps, collection bags and marking tape. Volunteers will then go in pairs (no one goes out alone) to the large trail map and select a trail to work on. Work will be carried out rain or shine. BL, Indian Lake and Bellefontaine softball win tournament games; Riverside falls
The Benjamin Logan softball team defeated Northwestern 5-2 in the second round of the Sectional Tournament on Friday. Offensively, the team had five hits. Keeli Rostorfer doubled and tallied three RBIs, and Kyndal Cronkleton and Kylie Harner each tripled. Brooks Myers singled and drove in a run, while Libby Siefring also added a hit. The Lady Raiders saw a stellar defensive performance in the top of the sixth inning to spark a three-run spurt in the bottom of the inning. Although Northwestern plated another run in the top of the seventh, Benjamin Logan was able to shut the door and earn the post-season victory.
