INDIANAPOLIS — Court documents reveal that police showed up to the scene of a road rage incident to find a frightened pregnant woman visibly shaking with her car, and herself, covered in spaghetti.

According to the court documents, Indianapolis Metropolitan police were called to Moller Road on the west side on April 17 after a driver reported that a woman driving a GMC SUV was following her and flashing a handgun.

Officers ended up locating the two vehicles involved in the incident where the driver of the GMC was handcuffed and eventually arrested.

Police identified the driver of the GMC as 42-year-old Sheila Pride. Pride has since been charged with intimidation, a Level 5 felony, and pointing a firearm, a Level 6 felony.

According to the victim, Pride nearly hit the victim’s Infiniti when the two vehicles were turning onto 46th Street. The victim claimed she yelled at Pride who in turn brake-checked her. The victim, who was 24 weeks pregnant and had children in her car, then passed Pride’s GMC. As she did, the victim told police that Pride flashed a silver handgun at her.

Pride allegedly began to follow the victim and tailgate the Infiniti. At the intersection of Moller Road and 38th Street, Pride is accused of side-swiping the Infiniti and throwing a container of spaghetti out her window as she did so.

The victim said her window was open and the spaghetti ended up on the car and on her.

Court documents reveal that at this point the victim exited her vehicle and walked over to Pride to try to get her insurance information due to her fender being damaged by the sideswipe.

The victim claims she said, “I don’t want to fight you, we need to exchange insurance.”

But Pride allegedly pointed her silver handgun at the victim.

When police spoke to Pride about the incident, she claimed it was the victim who caused the inciting traffic incident and that she was following the Infiniti to try and take a picture of the license plate. She claimed she couldn’t get her camera to work on her phone, however.

Pride also claimed it was the Infiniti that struck her SUV and denied ever pointing a gun at the victim.

Police noted that the victim’s description of the gun was accurate to the weapon recovered from Pride’s vehicle. Pride also admitted to having the gun on her lap but told police she couldn’t recall when she drew the weapon from her purse.

If convicted, Pride could serve between one and six years in prison on a Level 5 felony.
