Anthony Bell allegedly stole the Cabell County EMS ambulance around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, drove several blocks and then backed it into a building before getting out and running away. Huntington Police officers said Tuesday morning that he has been arrested.

Gordon Merry, Director of Cabell County EMS, told WBOY’s Charleston-area sister station, WOWK 13 News, that EMS crews were responding to a call at the Life House recovery facility in Huntington when Bell hopped in the vehicle and drove away.

The incident was captured by the ambulance’s dash camera.

There was minor damage to the ambulance, but it is already back in service. Merry said this is the third time in the past few months that an ambulance has been stolen.

Bell is facing felony and misdemeanor charges. He is being held in the Western Regional Jail on $25,600 cash-only bail.
