Delano snaps two-game skid with win against Becker
DELANO – Close games and runs coming hard to come by have been no stranger to the Delano baseball team this season. Delano once again found themselves in a pitcher’s battle and came out on the wrong end of things in a tough 1-0 loss to Mound Westonka April 25. Neither team had much going offensively as the two teams combined for just three hits. Mound Westonka was the lone team to come out and score a run as they were finally able to break through in the top of the fifth. The lone run of the game came on a solo home run by C Esposito and that was enough for the White Hawks to get the win. Brody Geislinger had the lone hit of the game for the Tigers in the loss. It’s the second time this season that Delano has been held to just one hit and were shut out. Geislinger also took the loss on the mound despite tossing a gem for Delano. He went all seven innings allowing the lone run off two hits while striking out seven and walking one.
