    The All-Courier Team: 2024's best high school softball players in Houma- and Thibodaux-area

    High school softball season in Louisiana is over, so it's time for the All-Courier Team.

    The All-Courier softball team is unique. Ten players from across the Houma- and Thibodaux-area make the team, five pitchers and five position players. Many earned all-district selections and led their teams to the LHSAA playoffs. Some were even voted district MVPs and won their respective class and division's state championships.

    With softball season officially behind us, here's a look at the 2024 All-Courier softball team:

    Pitchers

    Shelbee Gros, freshman, E.D. White

    Gros closed her freshman season with a 2.83 ERA, a trip to the Division II select state semifinals, and was named an All-District pitcher in Class 3A District 8.

    Briley Lovell, eighth grade, Houma Christian

    Lovell went to the Division III select state title game was named an All-District performer in Class 2A District 9 despite being just an eighth grader.

    Krista Marks, freshman, Covenant Christian

    Marks led CCA to a Division IV select playoff win, striking out seven batters in four innings in Covenant Christian's postseason opener.

    Faith Reulet, eighth grade, St. James

    Reulet was named a First-Team All-District performer in Class 3A District 8 to close her eighth grade season and helped SJHS to a Division III non-select playoff win.

    Corin Talbot, senior, Vandebilt Catholic

    Talbot led the Lady Terriers to a Division II select state title this season, the 15th in program history, and was named tournament MVP.

    Position Players

    Camryn Becnel, senior, E.D. White

    Becnel was named Co-MVP of Class 3A District 8, leading the Lady Cardinals to a berth in the the Division II select state semifinal.

    Whitney Diaz, sophomore, Assumption

    Diaz slugged for the Lady Mustangs in 2024, hitting 14 home runs, driving in 58 runs, and leading them to a win in a Division II non-select playoff game.

    Sa'Vya Sutherland, senior, St. James

    Sutherland was also named Co-MVP of Class 3A District 8 and helped the Ladycats to a Division III non-select playoff win over Springfield.

    Mallory Thibodaux, senior, Vandebilt Catholic

    Thibodaux started in all three outfield spots throughout her career, but found her home as a Division II select state champion right fielder as a senior.

    Jadyn Yesso, Houma Christian

    Yesso helped lead the Lady Warriors to a berth in the Division III select state championship game.
