Upon being interviewed by troopers responding to a traffic collision in Brunswick, Hunt allegedly provided state police the driver’s license of another person. The owner of the license was found to be wanted by North Greenbush Police.

Hunt was processed under the person’s name and arraigned at the North Greenbush Town Court without clarifying the discrepancy to police. While being arraigned, Hunt reportedly further stated his name as being that of the person on the warrant.

Hunt was remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail after an additional bail jumping charge was filed. Staff at the jail determined Hunt’s real identity during the intake process.

He was then taken back into the custody of North Greenbush Police. Police say Hunt attempted to pose as this other person due to reportedly having his own license revoked and having multiple warrants for his arrest. He was charged with the following offenses:

    Charges

    • First-degree identity theft
    • First-degree filing a false instrument
