Your last chance for Miami’s best cinnamon rolls is coming. Here’s what you need to know

If you needed a reminder that winter is over and it’s about to get hot, here it is: Your time for eating Miami’s legendary cinnamon rolls is just about over until fall.

Knaus Berry Farm in Homestead is closing for the season this weekend, and that means a long, hot summer without the delectable treats (and without the farm’s famous shakes, vegetables, jams, jellies and honey as well).

The final day to get your fix is Saturday, April 20. No, that date is not meant to commemorate the Stoner Holy Day of 4/20 (although, if you celebrate, this may be the week to stock up). The farm — which brothers Ray and Russell Knaus opened in 1956 — closes for the season after the third Saturday in April every year.

And remember: the farm stand is cash only, and if you wait until Saturday to head to Knaus, you should expect a wait. There’s a good chance half of Miami will be there.

What makes Knaus Berry Farm such a landmark? There’s a recipe in triumph and tragedy

The plan for now is to reopen on Oct. 29, 2024.

This was the first full season of business for Knaus in the wake of tragedy. On Feb. 17, 2023, Knaus Berry Farm co-owners Herbert and Rachel Grafe were attacked in their home and beaten, and Rachel Grafe died after two weeks in the hospital. The couple’s son Travis Grafe, 40, has been charged with second-degree murder in her death.
