First ever Lansing Fiesta celebrates Mexican culture
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The final day of the Lansing fiesta was held on Sunday at Adado Riverfront Park. This was the first year for this event and it kicked off on Saturday. People who attended were able to immerse in the Mexican culture by visiting over 100 different vendors while also enjoying some live music and experience the taste of different flavors from local food trucks.
Mid-Michigan community can update pets with free vaccines hosted by CAHS
LANSING, Mich. (WILX)—For those waiting for the right moment to catch their pets up on their vaccines, Tuesday is the day. The Capital Area Humane Society is hosting a free pet vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the spay and neuter clinic on South Cedar Street in Lansing. Vaccines distributed will include primary immunization shots for both cats and dogs and free rabies shots.
54 Michigan State Police Troopers Graduate

Deadline to Apply to Serve on EL Charter Review Committee Approaching
30 years have passed since the East Lansing charter was last formally reviewed, and the city has started the process of assembling a team to look at the charter once again. The new committee will include seven members. Initially, it was slated to have five members, as the 1995 committee did, but Councilmember Dana Watson motioned to expand the committee at the May 14 City Council meeting, a motion that was approved 4-1. City Council will appoint members of the committee from the pool of applicants.
