Motorcycle Crash in Hazel Green
On Saturday around 5pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a one motorcycle crash on Logan Road with one person injured. 40 year old Floyd Rarick of Pine City, Minnesota was southbound on Logan Road on his Harley Davidson. Rarick approached a sharp corner to the east and was unable to negotiate the curve. Rarick put the motorcycle down on its side. Rarick was taken to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for his injuries. Rarick was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Hazel Green EMS and the Hazel Green Police Department.

Pine City Defeats Milaca in Round One of Playoffs
The Dragons hosted the Wolves yesterday in the first round of section 7AA playoffs. Isaiah Hasz got the start on the mound for the Dragons and it was a bit of a rough start. Milaca's first three batters would reach on two walks and a base hit to lead the bases with zero outs. The Wolves had a prime opportunity to not only score first but open the flood gates early. Hasz though slammed the door striking out the next three batters to end the inning and escape the jam. The Dragons wouldn't have much luck at the plate as the Wolves starter Porter Meyer struck out 2 of the 4 batters he faced. The 2nd inning started well for the Wolves as Hasz walked the first three batters and was pulled for Nick Plasek. He was able to help the Dragons get the outs needed to get back to the plate. They would score the first run of the game after four runners walked. The Wolves early momentum slipped away as they couldn't get anyone on base the next two innings. But for Pine City they were able to cross another three runners and take a in the third and added one more in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.
