An Old Train Depot In This Small Idaho Town Now Serves Ice Cream And Burgers
A diner by the railroad tracks has been feeding hungry people since 1917. That’s more than a century of hash browns, gravy, and coffee refills in one Idaho spot. The menu still leans hard on the classics. Chicken fried steak, finger steaks, biscuits and gravy, and tater tots with fry sauce all have a place here.

Chain restaurants are invading this exploding Boise suburb. The newest opens Friday
Plate lunches piled with kalua pig, rice and macaroni salad will make their debut in Kuna this week. Mo’ Bettahs Hawaiian Style Food plans to open Friday at 1460 E. Deer Flat Road — the 10th Idaho location for the Utah-based brand. “Kuna is a close-knit town, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in, pass around the plates and bring a little more ‘ohana to the neighborhood,” Kimo Mack, cofounder of Mo’ Bettahs, said in a prepared statement. To mark the occasion, Mo’ Bettahs will host its traditional store-opening sneak peek on Thursday — aka the “Friends and ‘Ohana” celebration. Customers will be treated to a free lunchtime mini-plate and drink from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mo’ Bettahs will hold a ribbon-cutting at 4:30 p.m., then a party from 5 to 7 p.m. featuring samples, merchandise and a photo booth, according to a press release. Kuna is a growing Boise suburb — the 11th-fastest-growing city or town in America, according to recent census data . National brands have noticed. Mo’ Bettahs is just the latest chain restaurant to expand into the former farm town. Others that have appeared in the past year or so include Jimmy John’s, Wingstop

We Ranked The 6 Best Idaho Chicken Fried Steak Diners And Here Is Who Made The Final Cut
One Idaho diner on this list opened in 1917, which means its griddle has outlasted the Model T. That’s more than a century of cracked eggs and hot coffee. I find that kind of staying power really hard to resist. Chicken fried steak fits right into that story. It’s...

One 83-year-old chef has been cooking noodles at the same small stove since 1983. He still makes his own won-ton wrappers, too. His kitchen claims to be the only Chinese restaurant in Idaho doing both from scratch. That alone made me stop scrolling. The dining room keeps things simple, with...
