Clouds thicken Friday ahead our next system
Yesterday sure felt like Summer across the Valley! We saw lots of sunshine as highs soared into the 80s and 90s. We hit 90 at Harrisburg International which broke a record of 88 set back in the early 1913. The wind has now switched back around from the SE, and with that flow, we won't be quite as warm today. Highs look to rise back into the middle 70s to around 80s. Clouds will also start to increase as moisture levels in the atmosphere rise ahead of our next storm system. As it moves east this evening, we could see a stray shower or storm but the higher chances hold off until the overnight. It's going to be a dreary and damp kick-off the weekend. Hit or miss showers are on the table as a warm front tries to lift in. It doesn't succeed and we stay socked in with the clouds along with highs near 60. Some spots may not get out of the mid-50s! The slow-moving cold front continues to work eastward into Sunday with more widespread rain on the table. Highs once again will be cooler than average, only rising into the lower and middle 60s. In terms of the rain, totals look to top out around an inch, getting some more meaningful rain in the May bucket. Monday looks drier but it'll still be a little gloomy as our next disturbance moves our way. That'll make for more clouds than sunshine, but highs still look to rise back into the middle 70s. Enjoy the one day break from the wet weather because an unsettled stretch develops yet again. A parade of systems are in the forecast thanks to the NW flow aloft. Each day won't be a washout but we're expecting the chance for showers and storms from Tuesday right into next weekend. If you have outdoor plans, you'll want to stay tuned for our latest forecasts. Temperatures, despite the rain chances will remain above average, with highs topping out around 80 midweek.
