Roundabout construction rescheduled again, pushed up to Monday
After the new traffic signals were installed sooner than expected this week, MDOT has again adjusted the start date for roundabout construction. Work on the Highway 15/16 roundabout at the bypass is now set to begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3. The project includes a detour with temporary traffic signals in front of Tolbert Chevrolet.

Roundabout construction date changed to November
Roundabout construction at the bypass has been rescheduled to start Nov. 4, and the detour will include temporary traffic signals in front of Tolbert Chevrolet. Highway 15/16 near Canal Place and West Beacon Street from State Route 885 in front of Tolbert's to the bypass will be closed until June 30, 2026, as part of the construction, MDOT said.

Philadelphia, Miss. (WTOK) - Temporary closures are planned in Philadelphia starting next Tuesday, October 28. According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), construction is expected to last until June 30, 2026. Closures include Hwy 16 at Canal Place and W. Beacon St. from Hwy 885 to Hwy 16, as well as, the connection to Hwy 375 from Hwy 16 and W. Beacon St.

Construction on the roundabout at the intersection of Highways 15 and 16 is set to begin later this month and take about two years, with detour details forthcoming.
