Men arrested for allegedly breaking into house, RV on Denton church grounds
Denton police arrested two men Thursday after they were caught breaking into a house and trailer on Remnant Church property, according to a police report. Officers were first dispatched to the 3900 block of Holland Lane, which is a private section of road, at about 1:18 a.m.
Five North Texas Cities Among Fastest Growing In U.S.
A new report from the U.S. Census Bureau finds that five of the 15 fastest-growing cities in the country are in North Texas. Among cities with populations of at least 20,000 individuals, Celina experienced the highest growth with a 26.6% increase between July 2022 and July 2023. In total, the city increased by about 9,000 residents. From his home in Texas at the time, NBC News reporter Mike Hixenbaugh spent years covering a fight over school boards. Southlake, a prosperous and conservative Dallas suburb, confronted high-profile incidents of bullying and racism at its schools with a diversity plan, modeled after what had seemed to work elsewhere. The reaction: A conservative backlash that roped in the state Republican Party, Fox News, and well-funded conservative campaign groups that won control of the school board and rolled everything back. The community became a national face of the post-2020 culture war over “critical race theory” and Hixenbaugh wrote about all of it in “They Came for the Schools,” which was released this week. TWU flight training program reach deal with local academy for fall takeoff
Update : As of Friday morning, The TWU Board of Regents voted to approve the contract with U.S. Aviation Group LLC. Texas Woman’s University regents are poised to approve a contract with a local aviation company Friday, a move that will allow the university to start its new flight training program in the fall.

Carroll ISD plans to challenge the Biden administration’s recent changes to Title IX that extend protections to LGBTQ+ students. The Carroll school board voted unanimously Wednesday night to “proceed with litigation against all necessary parties related to proposed changes to Title 9 and their effect on Carroll ISD,” the district said on social media.
