Hialeah, FL - A man was arrested on Friday for setting a South Florida barbershop ablaze after throwing two Molotov cocktails at the business.

Prosecutors say 38-year-old Miguel Reyes Jr. used the explosive devices during a break-in at a property located at 60 W. 49th Street in Hialeah on Friday evening.

Authorities say Reyes, with the help of an accomplice, threw two Molotov cocktails at the barbershop that burned down.

Reyes appeared in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court on Saturday following his arrest.

Judge Laura Anne Stuzin ordered Reyes to stay away from the strip mall, located just north of Milander Park.

He faces first-degree felony burglary, which carries a potential life sentence, and first-degree felony arson.

Judge Stuzin denied the bond for the two charges, however, she did set a $7,500 bond for the separate charge of using an explosive device to cause disruption.

On Sunday, police identified the second suspect in the arson case as Alberto Gonzalez, who has yet to be found and charged.

An investigation into Friday’s incident is ongoing.

Anyone with information on Aberto Gonzalez is asked to contact Hialeah Detectives at (305) 687-2525 or Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
