Roseville rebounding again after second wave of floods
ROSEVILLE – The waters came up again in Roseville as it received another 3.5 inches of rainfall over the weekend, according to the National Weather Service, but the Moxahala Creek didn't get nearly as high as several days earlier. The creek swelled again after more thunderstorms rolled through Ohio Aug. 16 and reflooded the same areas from Aug. 10 and 11 that got eight inches of rain or more, like the Village Green Apartments, Old Rainer Road, Brush Creek Road, West Athens Road and the bridges on West Athens and Cannelville roads. The village also temporarily lost power again on Aug. 16, but it was restored overnight once the reflooded Crooksville substation came online. More: Damage assessments are ongoing as communities recover from flash flooding The water had since retreated by the time the Times Recorder spoke with Roseville's police chief, Derrick Keylor, on Aug. 17. Similar to a previous conversation with Keylor, the village will now continue through its recovery and then prepare for mitigation next, he reiterated. People have returned to cleaning, and eventually the debris will be cleaned up. Then, the village will have an after-action report to figure out where improvements can be made, Keylor said.

'We're focusing on what we still have.' Crooksville pushes ahead after flood
CROOKSVILLE – An overturned tabled sat along Elizabeth Street in the muddy, waterlogged grass. The fence between it and the PCC Airfoils' Crooksville plant was pushed over in some places and covered in muck. Patio chairs, broken pieces of fence, a playhouse and basketball hoop lined the street. However, it is not an abandoned table anymore. It was now a sign, a symbol of determination that reads "Crooksville Strong." Crooksville received 10.5 inches of rainfall between Aug. 10 and 11, with more than half during the storms' first two hours. Flash floods came soon after, swallowing numerous areas across the village. By Aug. 13, residents and businesses were sifting through the damage left behind, as state and federal agencies continued their assessments. A family living next to the Circle K had started cleanup. A pile of ruined clothing, furniture and other belongings sat in front of the house. "It's the baddest flood I've seen," said Megan Paul, a Crooksville mother and wife, told the TR. Their family lost a truck. Their recently replaced roof started leaking during the storms. Appliances were destroyed. Drywall and flooring were ruined. "There's a lot of work that needs done," Megan said. "We've lost a
