On April 12, a woman who was 11 weeks pregnant told the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office that she believed someone had solicited her former fiancé to help kill her unborn child by duping her into taking an abortion pill.

Drug bust at Brooksville Budget Inn
Late Monday morning, June 5th, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office conducted a drug bust at the Budget Inn at 1795 E. Jefferson Street in Brooksville. This bust was a result of a three month investigation. Officers were able to recover about two grams of fentanyl, two grams of oxycodone, a gram of cocaine, some marijuana, and some drug paraphernalia at the scene. One of the individuals in the hotel already had an arrest warrant issued for burglary. She is now under arrest. There was also another individual in the hotel room who participated in some of the sales who is now under arrest as well. The Sheriff’s Office will release more information as it becomes available.
