Cold front moves through the region this week, keep those jackets handy!

REGIONAL - It was a warm day on Saturday and we can say Sunday was a hot one! No records were broken, even though in the Tri-Cities, highs were in the mid 80s. Hermiston was in the low 80s, Walla Walla stayed in the low 70s and Yakima was in the low 80s. Today, we're going to be a good 10 - 15 degrees cooler than what we had yesterday so you'll likely need to hang on to the jackets this week. We do have a mix of sunshine and clouds out there this morning and we are starting out with temps across the region in the high 40s to low 50s.
TODAY
A mild start to the morning and it won't be warming up too much. Winds are quite breezy, especially in Ellensburg, Toppenish, Prosser and down in our southern regions of Hermiston and Pendleton. Those are the areas that will see the highest wind speeds today. The National Weather Service has issued a WIND ADVISORY until tonight for the Kittitas County region and portions of North Central Oregon, which includes Hermiston and Pendleton. These areas could see sustained winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Clouds will give away to more sunshine this afternoon and it will be a dry day overall for our region. High temperatures will be in the low 70s for the Tri-Cities region, which is around average for this time of year. Kittitas and Yakima Counties will see mid 60s as well as Hermiston and Walla Walla regions the same.
TONIGHT
Clouds push back in later this evening. We'll see some breaks now and then as we head into tomorrow morning.
TOMORROW
Temperatures will be a bit colder behind that front and we'll be down into the mid and upper 30s as we're waking up. There will be a little bit of a breeze that contributes to that windchill factor and then tomorrow afternoon, we're talking about highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
WEEK
We see another warming trend as we move throughout the week.
ALLERGY FORECAST
Tree pollen is still that predominant pollen in the air and tree pollen will likely remain high today, tomorrow and Wednesday, especially today with those winds. Then come Thursday and Friday, we'll drop to the medium to high category. Not much relief yet in sight for those who suffer with allergies.
