WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Mayor Ried Holien calls it a, “daunting task,” but one the city is willing to be a partner in taking on. The task is a child care shortage in Watertown. Folks in the industry refer to it as a, “crisis.” Essentially, too many kids needing placement in a child care facility so mom and or dad can go to work, but no room in daycare facilities to place them in.

David VanVeen and Kyson Fayant, Aberdeen Central — VanVeen won the 800 (2:05.69), 1,600 (4:34.11) and 3,200-meter (9:51.54) runs in a dual with Watertown. Fayant won the 100 (16.96) and 300 (43.25) hurdles.

WATERTOWN — The Daktoa Gold Academy gymnasts of Watertown wrapped up another successful season with strong performances in the South Dakota State USA Gymnastics Championships at Rapid City and Region 4 Championships in Iowa. The state meet produced two state championship teams, 36 regional qualifers and 64 top-3 podum finishes for DGA athletes.
