CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Suno CEO Mikey Shulman pulls up a chair to the recording studio desk where a research scientist at his artificial intelligence company is creating a new song. The flute line sounds promising. The percussion needs work. Neither of them is playing an instrument. They type...

Friday Nights Are for Boot Stompin’ at PBR Cowboy Bar
Recently, several local friends have asked me the same thing: “Where can we go line dancing?” (You can tell which era we were in college… 😜) If you’re ready to dust off those boots (or at least pretend you own a pair), look to nearby Fenton in Cary. PBR Cowboy Bar’s “Live Country Nights” brings a boot-stomping good time every Friday starting Feb. 27, 2026.

People From All Across North Carolina Are Making Repeat Trips To This Humble Restaurant For Pork Tenderloin That’s Worth The Drive
There’s something beautifully irrational about driving two hours for dinner. Yet every weekend, cars with license plates from Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, and beyond line the streets near a mint-green brick building in Greensboro. Prime Time with Chris Prieto
The Triangle-based pitmaster and barbecue personality combines science, hospitality and heart in his cooking and restaurants. Rain or shine, from Tuesday to Saturday, there’s a line wrapped around the building at Prime Barbecue in Knightdale. Folks show up as early as 8 a.m., even though the doors don’t open until 11 a.m., because the restaurant’s only open until the last slice of brisket is served.

Sometimes the best time machine runs on burgers and Beatles tunes, and you don’t need a DeLorean to find it. 30 Over 30: Raleigh’s Oldest Bars & Restaurants
As the hospitality scene in the City of Oaks has grown and evolved, these classic spots have stood the test of time. We all love to get excited when a new bar or restaurant opens — but as anyone in the hospitality business knows, the true test is if you can convince people to come year after year. That takes a special combination of craveable food (be it a greasy burger, classic barbecue or fine-dining cuisine), a distinct atmosphere and service that makes you want to visit again and again. That’s why we’re celebrating the “30 Over 30,” aka Raleigh bars and restaurants that have been around for 30 or more years. (Some of them date back to, fittingly, the 1930s!) From a fine-dining establishment in a Victorian-era home to a watering hole best for watching college sports, these are Raleigh’s oldest bars and restaurants.

Longleaf Swine, one of Raleigh's favorite barbecue joints, is expanding to Carrboro
Longleaf Swine , a barbecue joint that quickly became a city favorite when it opened in Raleigh in 2022, is expanding outside of the City of Oaks for the first time with a location planned in Carrboro. Why it matters: Longleaf Swine's expansion is a win for lovers of North Carolina's whole hog barbecue tradition. The restaurant has been at the forefront of a new generational take on the state's unique culinary ways, but it also serves brisket, weekly specials like steak frites, and an extensive bourbon program. Driving the news: Longleaf Swine plans to open this year in the current Luna Rotisserie & Taproom spot in downtown Carrboro, which announced this week it would be closing its doors next month. Luna, which still has a location in downtown Durham, has been operating in the former Milltown restaurant space across the street from the Cat's Cradle since 2020. State of play: Carrboro represents the latest expansion for the Longleaf Swine crew. The restaurant transformed the former Oakwood Cafe on Edenton Street in downtown Raleigh for its first location. This year, it will also open a location in the former Sawmill Tap Room in North Raleigh. What they're saying: Co-owner Adam
