Denver police to no longer pull drivers over for 'low-level' violations
The Denver Police Department is taking a new approach toward traffic stops, pledging to de-emphasize pulling vehicles over for 'low-level' violations on the road. According to reporting from CBS News, the new policy was approved on May 1, with traffic violations such as having a single headlight out or expired tags no longer likely to prompt a traffic stop. The goal of the change is to allow the Denver Police Department to focus on violations that pose a more imminent danger to the public, such as speeding, disobedience of a traffic signal, or reckless driving.
