Wide range of temperatures across north Georgia to start weekend
As we head into the last weekend of April, you may notice a change in the temperatures depending on where you step out Friday. Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan says a wedge will develop across the northeast metro and mountains today. A wedge is a bubble of cooler air near the surface that gets trapped along the eastern slopes of the Appalachian Mountains. Multi-Vehicle Wreck Tuesday snarls Ga. 365 Southbound Traffic
Units responded at 2:56 Tuesday afternoon, April 23, to a multiple-vehicle wreck on Ga. 365 southbound between Demorest-Mt. Airy Highway and Iron Ore Road. Four vehicles, including one towing a small boat on a trailer, were involved in the collision. Both southbound lanes were blocked for about 20 minutes, then one lane reopened. The road fully reopened at 4:30pm. Habersham County Emergency Services Med 21, Captain 1, and PIO responded, along with Demorest Fire Department Engine 5 and units from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office. One driver complained of injuries, but no one was transported from the scene for medical care. Georgia State Patrol Post 7 Toccoa is investigating.
First Alert Forecast | Mainly dry weather continues
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The weather stays mainly dry for the next several days in north Georgia. A few showers cannot be ruled out on Friday, but most of the day will be dry. High temperatures will range from the 60s in northeast GA to the 70s in Atlanta, and low 80s southwest of Atlanta.
