Police investigate apparent shooting at Downey Landing mall
Police rushed to the Downey Landing shopping center after an apparent shooting Tuesday afternoon. The Downey Police Department reported no injuries and advised people to stay away from the area. Officers detained a man immediately following the shooting and recovered a firearm at the location. Gang Member Arrested on Gun, Narcotics Charges
A suspect who deputies say is a gang member is in custody Wednesday after his arrest at a traffic stop in Norwalk. Deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s La Mirada Station stopped the suspect around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of committing several traffic violations. The driver, who deputies identified as a local gang member, was found to be in possession of narcotics and a loaded firearm, according to the Norwalk Sheriff’s Station.

Copper thieves continue to run rampant in Los Angeles, striking the Sixth Street Bridge again and leaving certain areas of the bridge in the dark. The famed East Los Angeles bridge was found by residents with exposed electrical boxes and missing wires. Neighbors who frequent the bridge were worried about the dangers of stealing electrical wire from the fuse boxes.

Man Charged with Murder of Two Brothers in Tragic Los Angeles Shooting
Los Angeles County has been shaken by a double murder that claimed the lives of two brothers, Sergio and Ricardo Rios, in the Exposition Park area earlier this month. The Los Angeles Police Department was called to a scene of violence at around 2 p.m. on the first of June, where they found the brothers with gunshot wounds in a car on the 1100 block of Browning Boulevard, as reported by LAPD's newsroom.
